JAM Sports Sub-Finder

The sub finder feature helps teams find players and provides you opportunity to play more.

Last updated on 23 Jan, 2026

Please note that as of January 14, 2026 only teams that register as full squads can use the tool when looking for substitutes. Free agent teams (teams that are rostered by people who signed up as individuals) do not have access to this tool yet.

There are two ways to use the feature: a team looking to add teammates for a specific game, and individuals interested in filling in to play additional games.

Team Use

For when your team will be missing players.

  1. When logged into your JAM profile, navigate to the "Teams" tab at the top of the page.

  2. Click the "Current" tab, then click the team that you want to find subs for.

  3. Navigate to the "Roster" tab and select the "Find a Sub" tab, then click the teal "Find a Sub" button.

  4. A pop out screen will appear, allowing you to select the game and sub details that you need.

  5. Once completed, click the teal "Request Subs" button.

  6. You can then monitor, accept, and decline sub requests in the "Find a Sub" tab.

  • When accepted, it will display in the "Find a Sub" tab on both the "Roster" and "Game Info" pages.

  • The first name of your sub is visible to the opposing captain on the "Game Info" page.

  • Captains and Assistant Captains can remove a sub after accepting it.

  • Only Captains and Assistant Captains of FULL TEAM SIGN-UPS (not teams of free agents)can create sub requests.

  • This feature can also be accessed from the game details, part of the scheduling area.

A Few Quick Heads-Ups

  • As mentioned above, the find a sub function is only available currently to captains and co-captains of full team registration, and not teams of free agents.

  • Currently, if you are a soccer or floor hockey captain looking for a goaltender, we do not specifically have position-specific requests available. This will be addressed in upcoming releases.

  • Skill level specific requests: this function has been designed to help teams quickly find an available substitute when they’re short. To keep the process fast and simple, substitute requests are currently accepted automatically and do not include skill-level filtering. This approach works well for many teams, but we understand in higher-level leagues it may occasionally result in a substitute whose experience doesn’t perfectly match the division. We’re actively working toward adding more flexibility and context to substitute requests in future releases.
